UPDATE: 26 May 2021

AgileAus20-1 is cleared for liftoff!

We are happy to announce that in light of health authority advice and COVIDSafe measures in place at the venue, AgileAus20-1 will be able to be held on Monday 31 May – Tuesday 1 June 2021 at the Sofitel Melbourne on Collins, complying with the regulated 2sqm per person capacity, and at this stage, attendees will need to wear masks (except while eating or drinking).

Protecting the community:
Sofitel Melbourne on Collins is a COVIDSafe venue – meaning they adhere to the national COVID-19 safe workplace principles. In conjunction with the Sofitel Melbourne on Collins’ ALLSAFE program, and the most up-to-date health advice from the government, AgileAus20-1 will be equipped with the latest and most elevated health and safety protocols, including:

  • All attendees will be COVIDSafe registered (via a dedicated QR code) on arrival – collecting full name and contact details as required by Victorian Government Legislation
  • Front of house/guest facing Sofitel staff will be wearing masks throughout the course of the event to adhere to Government regulations
COVIDSafe signage (posters and digital) will be on display throughout the venue
  • Frequently replenished hand sanitiser stations will be located throughout the venue, next to each high touch point
  • All hotel bathrooms are equipped with foot operated bins with a lid, to dispose of waste safely and to avoid contamination
  • Air conditioning has been adjusted by Collins Place building management to increase the airflow
  • Attendee numbers have been capped to ensure social distancing measures are adhered to
  • Guests are encouraged to remain in their selected seat where possible during the Conference
  • All microphones will be sanitised between speakers and sessions
  • You can read more about the Sofitel’s ALLSAFE enhanced measures and the standards to expect at AgileAus20-1 here: https://www.sofitel-melbourne.com.au/function-rooms/safety-is-the-new-chic/
  • As per health authority advice all attendees are required to mask up except when eating and drinking.

Please do not attend AgileAus20-1 if:

  • You have been in any known coronavirus hotspots in the past 14 days
  • You have been in direct contact within the last 14 days with someone who is suspected to have, or has been confirmed to have coronavirus
  • You are feeling unwell.

UPDATE: 22 February 2021

In the spirit of responding to change over following a plan (smile) AgileAus20-1 is lifting off to a new (and hopefully final) destination of Monday 31 May to Tuesday 1 June 2021 at the Sofitel Melbourne on Collins.

The Melbourne workshops have also found a new home and will be held on Wednesday 2 June 2021. All registrations have been transferred to the new dates.

Attendees will have the option of joining the Conference in-person (with all the spiffy COVIDSafe measures in place) or from a remote haven, by tuning in virtually.

Our thanks go out once again to the AgileAus community, sponsors, speakers and suppliers – to you personally as well as your supportive and understanding company on what has been quite the rollercoaster ride.

We can’t wait to see you – any-which-way – at AgileAus20-1!

We’re also excited to share that AgileAus21 will be held in Sydney in August 2021. Please watch this space for more details coming soon.

Our thanks go out once again to the AgileAus community, sponsors, speakers and suppliers for your ongoing support and understanding in this topsy-turvy year.

UPDATE: 6 August 2020

Unfortunately it has become clear that AgileAus20 (12-13 October 2020, Melbourne) can no longer go ahead as planned.

AgileAus20 is to be postponed, and held in Melbourne in the first half of 2021. All purchased tickets will be transferred to the new date or alternatively go towards a credit to attend a different event (e.g AgileAus Workshops, Better Worlds 2020, Tech23 or a Deep Dive).

In the meantime, we are excited to introduce AgileAus Circles an interactive opportunity for curious minds from across Australia and beyond to share better ways of working. You can find out more and register for these free virtual events here.

In case you missed it – you are also welcome to check out some inspiring content from the recently held ResponsibleTech Summit 2020 here.

Thank you once again to the AgileAus community, sponsors, speakers and suppliers for your ongoing support and understanding- it means the world to us.

Take care – and see you online soon!

UPDATE: 15 April 2020

You may have guessed that postponing AgileAus20 has become our best course of action. Fortunately, we have been able to secure the same venue (Pullman Melbourne on the Park) on Monday 12 – Tuesday 13 October 2020. The accompanying workshops will also be pushed out to 14 October 2020 in Melbourne and 16 October 2020 in Sydney.

AgileAus believes strongly in the magic of human to human connection. We are beyond excited to bring Australian agilists together again to learn and network with renewed enthusiasm in October 2020!

We are also exploring ways to bring value to the community during the (slightly longer) lead up – so please watch this space.

In the lead up to, and during the Conference, we will be taking advice from stakeholders and health authorities to inform our every action, and ensure that all decisions are made with the best interests of all those involved in AgileAus20 at heart.

Thank you to the AgileAus community for their ongoing support – it means the world to us. Hope to see you all in October!

From our sanitised hands to yours,

Adina Thavisin

UPDATE: 12 March 2020

In light of COVID-19, we are aware that many people have questions about what is going on with AgileAus20.

We are optimists – so we are still hoping that AgileAus20 (15-16 June 2020) and the accompanying workshops will go ahead as planned. Given the current very Volatile, Uncertain, Complex and Ambiguous (VUCA) environment however – we need to take every step we can to minimise risk, protect the communities we serve and make our events the best they can be!

It has not been necessary for us to make any big decisions quite yet, however we are working on ideas should circumstances change rapidly.

In a perfect world, the Conference will be as big and beautiful as usual. We are also prepared to rework the format if the environment in June is still not conducive to large gatherings. If travel is not possible for most stakeholders we may decide to congregate smaller, more distributed gatherings or alternatively, postpone AgileAus20 to later in the year if it is the safest option.

To support a possible postponement of AgileAus20, we have (very excitedly) begun planning for a ‘ResponsibleTech’ event, to be held on Monday 12 – Tuesday 13 October 2020 at the Pullman on the Park in Melbourne. This may prove to be a perfect pairing with a postponed AgileAus20 if that is the way the year unfolds.

We would like to thank the AgileAus community for their ongoing support – it means the world to us! The recent EOI and Squid Tank participation has been so reassuring. Be assured that whatever the outcome, every ticket you buy, can become a special voucher to use at any of the events in the AgileAus family (Conference, workshops, Better Worlds, The Deep Dive, ResponsibleTech…and more coming!)

AgileAus believes strongly in the magic of human to human connection. To that end, 100% virtual delivery for our events will only be pursued as a last resort.

The safety and enjoyment of our attendees, speakers, sponsors, suppliers and volunteers is as always, our first priority. We will be taking advice from stakeholders and health authorities to inform our every action, and ensure that all decisions are made with the best interests of all those involved in AgileAus20 at heart.

AgileAus is built on the goodwill of the community it serves. If you have any suggestions, queries or comments on how we can best deliver valuable experiences to you in this VUCA world – please do get in touch to adina@agileaustralia.com.au or via phone to +61 3 9663 3093.

From our freshly washed hands to yours,

Adina Thavisin
